Freshman Katie Duncan Became the First Female Bowler in School History to Bowl a Perfect Game
The Hudson Valley Community College men's and women's bowling teams each finished second in their respective tournaments in the I-90 Invitational on Sunday, December 8 in Syracuse.
Freshman Katie Duncan (Voorheesville/Voorheesville High School) became the first female bowler in Hudson Valley history to roll a perfect game in competition when she knocked down every pin during her second game. She was the only player, male or female, to roll a 300 in the tournament. Duncan averaged 215.5 pins per game for the tournament, which was good enough for third place among individual female bowlers.
Also performing well for the Hudson Valley women were sophomores Bridget AuClaire (Ravena/Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk High School) and Erin Fagan (East Greenbush/Columbia High School), averaging 211.3 and 207.9 pins, respectively.
The Hudson Valley men bowled an average of 233 to finish second out of 11 schools. Freshman Steve Horton (Troy/Troy High School) averaged 243 to finish second out of 68 male competitors. Sophomore Dan Ahl (Loudonville/Colonie High School) was fourth with a 241.9 pin average and freshman Eddie Torres (Kingston/Kingston High School) finished seventh, averaging 235 pins per game.
