The Hudson Valley men's basketball team had their five-game win streak snapped on Thursday evening as they Vikings were defeated 93-80 on the road against nationally ranked Mohawk Valley in Utica, NY.

Mohawk Valley jumped on the Vikings early and posted 49 points in the first half as three Hawks finished with 18 or more points. As a team, Mohawk Valley drained nine three-point field goals, including six in the second half, which increased their lead and kept the Vikings out of reach from any potential comeback effort.

Leading Hudson Valley on the offensive front was Iziah Pigott and Brandon McKenly. The duo combined to score 34 points with 15 made field goals. Pigott scored 13 of his team-high 18 points in the second half and McKenly scored 10 of his 16 points in the first half of play.

Freshman big man, Daivel Jackson finished with 13 points, marking the second straight game in which Jackson recorded at least 13 points in a game.

Hudson Valley returns to action on Saturday, Jan. 18 as they travel to play Fulton-Montgomery at 3 p.m. in Johnstown, NY.
