The Hudson Valley men's basketball team kicked off the second half of their season this afternoon with an 80-67 win on the road against a tough Columbia-Greene program in Hudson, NY.

The Vikings showed a little rust in the first half of the game as they ended up with a three-point lead at halftime. Following the break, Brandon McKenly and Ryan Long took over the game and combined to score 29 points in the second half.

McKenly finished with a game-high 23 points, with 17 points coming after the break and Long scored all 12 of his points after halftime to secure the double-digit win for Hudson Valley.

Freshman point guard, Iziah Pigott played well for the Vikings as he finished with 13 points and handled a majority of the ball handling throughout the back and forth contest. Luke Bourgault earned his first start of the season and posted 11 points, which gives him three straight games with him scoring in double-figures.

The Vikings put their three-game win streak on the line this Thursday, Jan. 9 when they travel to take on Clinton at 4 p.m. in Plattsburgh, NY.
