Men's Basketball Claims Overtime Victory over Ulster

The Hudson Valley men's basketball team needed the overtime period to finally put Ulster away and claim the 99-91 win on Sunday afternoon. 

The Vikings and Senators were all tied up at 81-81 at the end of regulation. In the overtime period, the Vikings outscored Ulster 18-10 and were led by Zach Hilton's 10 points in the extra frame.Hilton finished the game with 17 points. 

Leading the charge for Hudson Valley was freshman Brandon McKenly, who posted a career-high 20 points ad the Vikings had six individuals reach double-digit scoring. Luke Bourgault also finished with a career-high as he posted 17 points on six field goals, including a pair from behind the arc. 

Mike Kalkbrenner joined McKenly and Bourgault with his own career game. Kalbrenner finished with a career-best 12 points. Jordan Lewis and Iziah Pigott also reached double-figures with Lewis scoring 12 points and Pigott adding 10 points. 

The men's basketball team returns to action one more time before the winter break. The Vikings are scheduled to travel to Springfield Tech on Thursday, Dec. 12 with a 7 p.m. start time.
