The Hudson Valley Community College men's basketball team closed out its regular season with an 88-53 win over Columbia-Greene Community College this morning in Troy.
Sophomore guard Maurice Lane (Bakersfield, CA/West High School) poured in 20 points and dished out five assists to lead Hudson Valley. Sophomore Kevin Goutos (Altamont/Guilderland High School) added 15 points and three steals, and sophomore Zach Bye (Scotia/Scotia-Glenville High School) and freshman Justin Gallo (Brunswick/Lansingburgh High School) chipped in 10 points apiece.
Columbia-Greeene got a team-high 15 points from Dan DeVantier (Roscoe).
Hudson Valley finished its regular season with a 21-9 record and will await its playoff opponent that will be announced Sunday evening. The 2006-07 campaign was the second consecutive 20-win season for the Vikings and its 17th consecutive winning season.
