The Hudson Valley football team (2-3) went on the road and gave a historic performance as the Vikings defeated Ithaca JV 36-14 in Ithaca, NY on Sunday evening.

Running back Desi Floyd became the first Viking to surpass 250 rushing yards in a game since Vikings Hall of Famer Emmanuel Marc accomplished the feat three times during his record-breaking season in 2003. The Vikings ran with Floyd early and often as he continued to hit the open holes that were set up by Hudson Valley's offensive line. Floyd finished the game with 32 rushing attempts for a total of 250 yards and added two touchdowns.

With the success of Floyd and the Vikings running game, quarterback Alex Dembroski only had to throw the ball 18 times and finished with 11 completions for 226 yards and three passing touchdowns. Dembroski continued to find freshman receiver Kyle Daly open deep down the field as they connected for seven completions. Daly nearly joined his older brother and former Vikings receiver, John Daly (2017-18), in the 200-yard receiving club as Kyle finished the game with 197 yards with a 28.1 yards per completion average. Daly also accounted for all three of the Vikings receiving touchdowns.

Ithaca JV's offense did have several positive plays throughout the entire game, similar to the first game of the season with the Bombers defeated Hudson Valley 31-28. Today's game was different, as the Vikings defense found a way to stop Ithaca's attack with four interceptions on the day. Javon Taylor, Daniel Slade and Andrew Liverman each recorded one interception as they continue to play shut-down defense this season. Corey Wims secured the Vikings win with his fourth quarter interception, which set up the Vikings offense to score one final time.

As a team, Hudson Valley recorded 560 yards of total offense with 334 rushing yards and 226 passing yards. The Vikings also had success keeping drives alive as they produced a first down on 42 percent of the time on third down.

The Vikings are back in action this Saturday, Oct. 12 as they travel to take on the New Jersey Warriors at St. John Vianney High School in Holmdel, N.J. Kickoff is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m.
