Dominic Howard (Baltimore, MD/Randallstown High School), who recently completed his sophomore season with the Hudson Valley Community College football team, has signed a National Letter of Intent to play football and continue his education at Indiana State University.
Howard, who played defensive back for the Vikings in 2003 and 2005, finished his two-year Hudson Valley career with 47 tackles and two interceptions. He was a Second Team All-Northeast Football Conference selection in 2003.
He is the 19th Hudson Valley football player to receive an athletic scholarship to a NCAA Division I-A or I-AA since 2003.
Hudson Valley finished the 2005 season with a 6-4 record and captured its fifth Region III championship in the last six years. The Vikings will open the 2006 campaign on Friday, September 8 in West Point against Army Prep School.
