NJCAAE Announced Spring 2021 Gaming Lineup

NJCAA eSports, the national governing body for two-year college eSports, in conjunction with the NJCAAe Advisory Committee have announced a 12-game lineup for the 2021 spring semester. 

Vikings eSports participation depends on the roster size and the overall interest of the eSports student-athletes at Hudson Valley. The department of athletics encourages all interested student-athletes to contact head coach Robert Stranahan (r.stranahan@hvcc.edu) for additional information. 

Eligibility

All eligible student-athletes must be enrolled as a full-time student at Hudson Valley Community College with at least 12 credits or more for the spring 2021 semester. All eligible students must also pass a minimum of 12 credits with a 2.0 grade-point-average or better in their last full-time semester.

Spring 2021 NJCAAe Gaming Offering NJCAAE Spring 2021 Game Offerings: Additional games may be announced at a later date.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is a fighting game in which the objective is to knock the opponent off the stage and eliminate all of their stocks. 

Fortnite: is a player-versus-player game, using solo mode to receive points for the match, with each player finishing inside the top-10 earning additional placement points. 

FIFA 21is a football simulation video game published by EA Sports as part of the FIFA series.

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) - The game pits two teams against each other: the Terrorists and the Counter-Terrorists. Both sides are tasked with eliminating the other while also completing separate objectives.

Rainbow Six Siege: The game is an online shooter video game which puts heavy emphasis on environmental destruction and cooperation between players.

Overwatch is a team-based, first-person shooter, where players choose from a roster of heroes to assemble a team. 

Rocket League is a high-powered hybrid of arcade-style soccer and vehicular mayhem. Described as "soccer with rocket-powered cars," the goal is to score as many goals as possible over the course of the match. 

Valorant: is your global competitive stage. It's a 5v5 tac-shooter matchup to plant or defuse the Spike in a one-life-per-round, first to 13 series.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare: The iconic first-person shooter game with cross play, free maps and modes, and new engine deliver the largest technical leap in Call of Duty history. 

Call of Duty: Cold War:  The launch of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is coming soon on Nov. 13. The first-person shooter video game is the sixth installment of the Black Ops series and the seventeenth installment in the overall Call of Duty series.  

Hearthstone - Originally subtitled Heroes of WarcraftHearthstone builds upon the existing lore of the Warcraft series by using the same elements, characters, and relics. The game is a turn-based card game between two opponents, using constructed decks of 30 cards along with a selected hero with a unique power. Players use their limited mana crystals to play abilities or summon minions to attack the opponent, with the goal of destroying the opponent's hero. 

NBA2K21: is the latest title in the world-renowned, best-selling NBA 2K series, delivering an industry-leading sports video game experience, based on the National Basketball Association (NBA). 

League of Legends: is a team-based strategy game where two teams of five powerful champions face off to destroy the other's base. Choose from over 140 champions to make epic plays, secure kills, and take down towers as you battle your way to victory.
