The Hudson Valley Community College baseball team (19-22) lost to the defending regional champs Erie Community College (30-15) 16-1 and 3-2 on Saturday afternoon in the opening round of the Regional Tournament.
Josh Temple (Cohoes/Cohoes) pitched 6 and 1/3 innings in game two, allowing only one run on five hits. He started the game throwing six scoreless innings, including a stretch where he retired 18 out of 20 batters. Andrew Kozak (Sidney/Sidney) recorded a single, a run and an RBI, and John Craig (Shenendehowa/Clifton Park) added an RBI single. Hudson Valley was up 2-1 in the eighth inning, but back-to-back errors led to two unearned runs, ultimately deciding the game.
The baseball team ends the season with a 19-22 overall record.
