Athletics teams with Cultural Affairs Program to present Abby Wambach, soccer icon

Olympic Gold Medalist Abby Wambach will make a virtual appearance at Hudson Valley Community College on Thursday, March 4 under co-sponsorship of the Cultural Affairs Program and Athletics Department.

The live event will run from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and include a Q&A session. It is open free to the campus community and general public. Abby Wambach is a soccer icon, speaker, bestselling author and activist for equality and inclusion. She is a two-time Olympic Gold Medalist and FIFA World Cup Champion, and was the United States' leading scorer in the 2007 and 2011 Women's World Cup tournaments and the 2004 and 2012 Olympics. After winning the Women's World Cup in 2015, Wambach retired as one of the most dominant players in the history of women's soccer. A true leader on and off the field, she is dedicating this chapter of her career to fighting for equality and inclusion across industries.

Wambach is the author of the New York Times bestseller, "Forward: A Memoir" (2016). She is co-founder of Wolfpack Endeavor, which is revolutionizing leadership development for women in the workplace and beyond through individualized coaching and a team-bound focus. A second book, "WOLFPACK: How to Come Together, Unleash Our Power, and Change the Game" (2019) was followed by a young readers' edition. Simply titled "WOLFPACK," the 2020 book inspires young people to "find their voice, unite their pack and change the world."
